We have masses of British charm, as our hostel is in the historic Baden Powell House, named after the founder of the Scouting Movement. After a tiring day's sightseeing you can put your feet up in our spacious, comfortable lobby, surf the internet or go to the bar and chat with other guests from all over the world. Here we can offer you cider and small snacks such as sandwiches, muffins and cookies, just what's needed to set you up for your next round of activities. You can sleep in single, double, shared or dormitory accommodation. All rooms have a private bathroom with shower and toilet, and all rooms except the dormitories have a TV. You can leave your bedding at home as we include it in the price. CANCELLATION POLICY FOR GROUPS OF 12 OR MORE: Bookings for groups of 12 or more: cancellations made by the guest respectively on the part of the intermediary person or organisation are free of charge up to 60 days before expected arrival. For cancellations made within 60 days prior to arrival, the following cancellation fees apply; these fees also apply for bookings made within 60 days of expected arrival: a) For cancellations made 59 to 30 days before expected arrival, 30 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due. b) For cancellations made 29 to 10 days before expected arrival, 50 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due. c) For cancellations made 9 to 1 day(s) before expected arrival, 90 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due. d) Guests who either cancel on the day of their expected arrival or simply do not show up will be charged the agreed-upon total price in full. Above cancellation conditions also apply if the number of persons is reduced at least 10 per cent within this period of time. A reduction of less than 10 per cent is free of charge until 1 day prior to arrival. Booked meals can be cancelled free of charge until 8 days prior to arrival. Thereafter, a cancellation fee of 100 per cent of the agreed-upon total price applies. PAYMENT For groups of 12 or more, a deposit in the amount of 30 per cent of the total booking price is due four weeks after receipt of booking confirmation unless otherwise arranged beforehand. This does not apply for group bookings made on short noticewithin eight weeks of arrival; in such cases, the bill must be paid in full immediately upon receipt of booking confirmation. CLEANLINESS & SECURITY Cleanliness is of the highest priority for us. All guest rooms and common areas are cleaned daily. The hostel and its rooms are equipped with a highly modern keycard system. The entire hostel is equipped with a modern fire alarm system with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers on every floor, as well as a video monitoring system in the entrance area and bar. Furthermore, our reception is manned 24 hours a day so that you will always find someone to speak to about questions and concerns. In order to improve the comfort for you, our lift in London will be renovated between October and December 2011.
